Hi. My name is Gus Vandermeeren. My hobby is picking up trash from roads, parks, creeks, trails... to the tune of over 1000 large bags a year. I've adopted New Bern Ave (via DOT's adopt a highway program), and mile 16 of the Neuse River trail (via city parks adopt-a-trail program) so you may have seen me pulling my cart in parks or along New Bern Ave (river to I-440) and other local roads. I wanted to give a shoutout to Ms. Janie Schwab for her kindness and generosity. Janie owns a building maintenance (Janitorial Services and such) company, a franchise of Environmental Control. She saw me cleaning the roads and has offered me as many bags as I need, for as long as I need them. She has already given me my firsh supply of 200 bags (REALLY good ones too--big sturdy black ones... YEEHAH!!) Her kindness deserves one in return, so I wanted to let y'all know about it and ask that if you own a business or know of one that needs janitorial services that you consider her business.
