I spoke today to Shutterstock's employee resource group for women and what echoed in my ears as I thought about what I wanted to say was a colleague's exhortation to "light it up light it up." YES. Light it up! I love this advice for so many reasons: 1) It's powerful. It suggests a burst of energy that carries others along in its wake. 2) Light exposes what festers in darkness. Let's talk about things so that we can celebrate them, fix them, or accept them. If they're in the dark, they rot. 3) Light is brilliance! Shine yours. To that point: I am exceptionally proud this week of our story on the history of American protest. When we talk about our issues, we open ourselves to positive change.
