| The High School Nation Tour has successfully been running nationally for the past two years. Their organization supports music and art programs in public high schools around the US. This year, they are introducing the High School Nation Tour presented by Aquafina FlavorSplash (PepsiCo), their first non-official SXSW event and it’s going to take over the streets of Austin! Taking the stage for this epic event will be such superstars as Taboo (Black Eyed Peas) *Drake Bell (from TV's Drake & Josh), Trevor Jackson (Disney's Let It Shine) and many more! Taboo, the founding member of the worldwide sensation, The Black Eyed Peas, isn't just a member of the global chart topping sensation, but he is quickly becoming a solo sensation. Gearing up for his solo album, Taboo is set to release the first single off of his new album entitled ZUMBAO (Interscope Records). From 12pm-6pm on Friday March 14th, High School Nation will take over the parking lot at 7th Street and Medina for an all ages event that is open to the public. Eight (8) to ten (10) acts will perform on the Aquafina FlavorSplash Stage and one (1) ReverbNation act will get to join the bill. Acts will perform in support of keeping music programs in local public schools in Austin and get the experience of a lifetime. Past High School Nation Artists Included: Jason Derulo, Wale, New Boyz, Cody Simpson, Gloriana, The Ready Set, Joey Montana, Jason Castro, Tyler Hilton, and many others. Additional Performance Details: Backline provided, 20-30 minute set, Must provide own instruments Selection Criteria: Songwriting, Content of Songs, Marketability, Appropriateness for teen audience Free attendance to the event will be provided to all artists who submit. |
