I am a college student enrolled at ECU and I am majoring in contruction management. The car was a 2003 BMW 300XI. My family has owned the car since new. To me the car was something very special. I took care of the car and gave it evey ounce of love I could give. One day I was on the way to get food in the morning and it was raining. I do drive slower in the rain because I do know the dangers of driving fast when the roads are wet. When I came around a bend in the road the car started to hydroplain and I wasn't able to recover it. I went off the road and hit a group of trees. The second I came to a stop the car went into flames with me inside. I managed to get out after a few seconds of the fire starting. I recvied second and third degree burns up and down my legs and some burns on my hand. I also got a compressed fracture in my lower back from the accident. The money that is donated will be used to help me buy a new car that I can use to go to work and for when I go back to college in the fall. I plan on getting a car that is safe and reliable for me to use on a daily basis. Thank you for all of the help and support.
