King Hopeton (Horace Campbell) was born in St Ann Parish on the beautiful island of Jamaica in 1972. He started playing music at the age of 4 after watching an old woman play "Come Back Charlie". When she got up, he sat down and started playing the same piece of music as though he had played it before. His love for music was born in that moment and he has continued playing piano since. His unique style is directly influenced by his classical roots.

His work embodies elements of Jazz, Rhythm and Blues, Ska, Gospel, Alternative and Classical music. In addition to piano he has also mastered drums, guitar and the organ, as well as honing his vocal talents.
At age 7, Hopeton received his first standing ovation and from all the love he felt in that moment he decided "It's only music for me", and has lived his music since. During his teen years Hopeton joined the multi award winning "United Force Band", who received awards from the Jamaican Federation of Musicians as "best show band" for four consecutive years.

In 1995, King Hopeton established Double Lion Records in Jamaica and in the US in 2007. Since then, King Hopeton has released work with Beenie Man, Sizzla, Capleton, Little Hero, Teflon and many others. King Hopeton was credited by Billboard Magazine in 2009 for producing 12 of 15 rhythm tracks on

Little Hero's number one Billboard Reggae album "Revelation", as well as Reggae hits stemming from Jamaica to the Caribbean.
In 1997, King Hopeton started his solo career as an artist, musician and producer. Since that time he has worked with a myriad of talented names in Reggae music, including, but not limited to: Mykal Rose and Duckie Simpson (Black Uhuru), Justin Hinds, Everton Blender, Movado, Prezident Brown and Sizzla, Rapture (gospel) and United Force bands. He has also worked with a number of international groups such as Mei (Japan), Ragga Z (Germany) Rocker T, Pyrx Band and Dylans Dharma (USA). King Hopeton has worked with producers such as Steelie and Clevie, Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare, Hart Richards and Steven Stanley.
King Hopeton's newest album "Beautiful Morning" is his newest release to date, with tracks , ranging from acoustic soul to heavy bass lines, roots rock reggae style. Including tracks such as "Once Again", "Beautiful Morning" (title track) and "Can You Feel it Jah".
Since beginning his solo career, King Hopeton has recorded and released several singles, including "King of Kings", "Hard Times", "Free Yourself" and "Can You See the Light", which are currently attracting major rotation on the Jamaican airwaves and have also gained international attention in the US, Europe and Africa.

King Hopeton is an avid performer, with an average of over 80 shows a year. You can find him at Festivals such as Alley Arts Fest 2nd Sat (Ca), Sting 2008(Ja), Benefit for Cancer Treatment (Ca), Best Reggae Fest, One love Reggae Fest (California and Florida), In the Light Fest as well as touring, primarily in California at popular music venues.
King Hopeton's logo is a Lion. It represents strength, family and King. He is inspired by King David and King Solomon who both played musical instruments. King Hopeton is a supporter of the Make a Wish Foundation and is an advocate for Ultimate World Peace. He believes that his responsibility lies in being available to people of every nation color or creed whenever the need arises for his support, and most importantly, "sharing his knowledge and devotion to this cause" (Reggae Music for Peace).
