IMPORTANT COMMUNITY INFORMATION & NEWS TO KNOW, RESPOND TO and PASS ALONG TO ALL PEOPLE YOU CARE ABOUT:

Please read the important email information below, “MY MARRIAGE IS NOT THREATENED”, which I have determined important enough to forward along to you … respond with support to my friend Chris Weedy on her Facebook web site, then take the time to pass this information along to all heterosexual married couples that you know, including your parents and neighbors and ask them to show support to this important message. Chris Weedy’s very important email action alert follows my message.

We need to do all we can to alert people to the proposed North Carolina Constitutional amendment called the “Defense of Marriage” act, which will come up to a vote by each one of us here in North Carolina in May 2012 and would in effect,  if passed by the voters, stop homosexual people from being able to be legally married within North Carolina and end any legal recognition for any same sex marriage or union that legally takes place in another State or Country, here in North Carolina.

Become informed about and become involved in the struggle to change our North Carolina Constitution to keep homosexual North Carolina citizens from being able to marry or have their married unions recognized. Use Chris Weedy’s example below and help form local community based efforts where you live to educate your friends, family, co-workers, organizations and neighbors to the harm of the upcoming N.C. Constitutional Amendment effort … work to vote against it in the May 2012 election.

This is ridiculous!

Just a few days ago I was on WRAL.com and came across an article about the NC anti-gay marriage constitutional amendment and I found this quote....."(The constitutional marriage amendment) is about marriage, the protection of marriage," said Tami Fitzgerald, executive director for the North Carolina Values Coalition. "We expect a groundswell of support from people across the state because the polls tell us that people care very deeply about protecting marriage from being redefined."

What! My marriage is not threatened by gay marriage in NC. That is ridiculous! Do you know anyone whose is? Of course not! So, I had to do something and I invite you to join me. I created a Facebook page out of protest. It is called My Marriage is Not Threatened by Gay Marriage in NC.  Here is the link.....check it out.    http://www.facebook.com/pages/My-Marriage-Is-Not-Threatened-By-Gay-Marriage-in-NC/210518079015149?sk=wall

It is a simple idea. If you are a heterosexual couple living in NC and you oppose the anti-gay constitutional marriage amendment please post your photo as a couple on this Facebook page. Include the city you live in. Please pass this link on to any supporters you know. It is my goal to raise awareness of just how stupid this amendment is. If you are on Facebook encourage your friends to "like" the page and to post their photos. If you aren't on Facebook send me your photo and I will post it for you.  Thanks in advance for your support.

Below, An Important WAKE UP Message From North Carolina Senator Ellie Kinnaird to all North Carolina Voters Concerning the proposed N.C. Constitutional Amendment titled the “Defense Of Marriage Act”, which will be up for a Vote in May 2012:

The latest polls show more people are against the amendment than for it, especially with young people.  But it was not a survey of voters, only residents. And young people traditionally don't vote.  they stayed away in 2010 and let the Repubs take over.  We must get people to the polls in May, because the right wing churches will.  Ellie
