RALEIGH GAME NIGHT. Free and open to all ages, this is a smoke-free, alcohol free social event. If you enjoy playing board games and card games in a relaxed, fun atmosphere, then this is the place for you.

GAY & GRAY INITIATIVE FOCUS GROUP. You can provide us with valuable feedback on where this important initiative needs to go. We will start off with self-serve ice cream sundaes and then get down to business. There are no longer any spots open for this particular group, but if you are interested in participating in our next focus group please contact Vince Newton at newtonvl48@gmail.com.

This month's featured book: Emma Donoghue's Room.  This best-selling novel tells the remarkable story of Jack, a five-year-old boy who has lived his whole life in a single room.

NCPRIDE AND PARADE. Join the entire North Carolina community as we take part in the yearly celebration of LGBT pride. Stop by our tent, say hello, and catch up with our latest programs and projects. Serenity and the Center will be hosting a Meet and Greet for the stars of the Fall Foliage Bonanza Benefit Concert. Come say hello to Jennifer Corday and the Cougars, the all girlz band Shoot to Thrill, Monka Jaymes, and Kevin & Greg. Join us for free food and drink and a great photo op. The Carolina Bear Lodge is having a "Coming Out! Cotillion Ball" with dancing, prizes, refreshments, cash bar and a silent auction to benefit the LGBT Center of Raleigh. Tickets are $25 per person and $45 per couple and are available at www.carolinabears.com or in person at the Center. There will be a pre-Cotillion party at the Center at 6 PM. FALL FOLIAGE BENEFIT CONCERT. This Spectacular Event Sponsored by Serenity Girlz will have famous acts such as  JENNIFER CORDAY & the Cougars, MONIKA JAYMES, Famous Comedienne VICKIE SHAW, Vaughan Penn, Shoot to THRILL and the song stylings of our very own Kevin & Greg.

 

This is a charity concert. All monies will be donated to the LGBT Center of Raleigh, Susan G. Komen Foundation, SWOOP, NC Coalition Against Domestic Violence and several others. Go here to buy tickets.

2011 LGBT CENTER OF RALEIGH AWARDS DINNER. Our annual dinner at which we will present the Distinguished Service Award to Rev. Jimmy Creech, and the Community Impact Award to Akil Campbell. $100 per person, and seating is limited, so get your tickets now! Click here to purchase your tickets.

AN OLD FASHIONED ROCK AND ROLL / DISCO PARTY presented by the Gay and Gray Initiative. We'll be on the penthouse floor of the hotel where you can enjoy some of the best views of Raleigh. Heavy hors d'oeuvres, a cash bar, and a great DJ will spin the hits for us. There will also be a quiet area if you want to spend some quiet social time. Ticket price: $15, and includes free hotel parking.

The Grand Opening of the Center's library, the only LGBT Community Library in the Triangle. Begninning today library cards will be issued to Triangle residents who reside in Wake, Durham, Chatham and Orange Counties.

 

At 6:30 PM author Tom Mendicino will be reading excerpts from his book Probation, a smart, engaging, witty and unusual novel set in North Carolina. This timely and provocative novel explores how a closeted gay man's decision to marry impacts his life and the people he loves, and what happens when the lie unravels. Mr. Mendicino will be signing any books purchased during the evening.
